About David LaRue
David Andrew LaRue was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio and graduated from Steubenville High School in 1979. LaRue received his Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University, graduating with honors in liberal arts. He went on to earn a Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law, graduating in the top 20 percent of his class.
LaRue’s career began as a Staff Attorney for Advance Financial Savings Bank, where he handled real estate closings, collection suits, and regulatory compliance matters. From there LaRue became an associate attorney with the Washington, Pennsylvania firm of Melenyzer and Tershel, where he performed probate, estate planning, real estate, business law and bankruptcy law work.
In December of 1991, LaRue returned to his home town to open his own law practice. His practice is focused on advocacy for the elderly and their families. As an elder law attorney, LaRue has helped more than 2500 clients. In 1996, LaRue became one of approximately 5,000 members of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He is also an active member of the National Care Planning Council. These organizations support the efforts of members in dealing specifically with the legal issues that affect the elderly population and their families. Additionally, LaRue is accredited as an attorney with the Veterans Administration, and has helped more than 1000 veteran clients with their legal needs.
In 2000, in order to better assist his clients and their families in finding and evaluating life and long-term care insurance products, and to provide more comprehensive long-term care planning and estate planning services, LaRue became a licensed Life, Health and Accident Insurance Agent.
In 2004, LaRue founded Forest Green Financial & Insurance Solutions, LLC. He is certified in Long-Term Care by the Corporation for Long-Term Care. LaRue helps individuals and couples develop their personal financial and estate plans with much more consideration now given to investment issues, income tax concerns, insurance needs, employer-sponsored investment plans, and retirement fund distribution issues.
LaRue’s experience as a licensed elder law attorney has given him firsthand knowledge of the devastating effects of failing to plan for extended care. Helping clients and their families to be better prepared is what motivated LaRue to open this practice.
